PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS

Autism Spectrum Disorder

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that affects 1 in 44 children. Although often diagnosed in childhood, certain cases may not be diagnosed until late teens or early adulthood. Additionally, it can be challenging to differentiate ASD from psychiatric conditions such as anxiety disorders, ADHD, OCD, trauma, and more. BainHWC offers psychological evaluations for individuals ages 8 to 21 to determine if they fall into the autism spectrum. Dr. Bain has worked with youth with ASD for over a decade at hospitals, clinics, and schools and is trained in diagnosing and treating children with ASD (using the ADOS-2, the gold standard to evaluate ASD). She offers a “whole person” approach to evaluations and integrates findings from the developmental history, observations by family, teachers, and other providers, data from testing, and input from the individual.
