FAQ

BainHWC does not contract with any insurance company. You may still be eligible for reimbursement and should contact your insurance company to determine what benefits might apply to out-of-network care. BainHWC will be happy to assist your claims by providing detailed receipts.

BainHWC offers a complimentary 15-minute initial phone consultation to discuss your concerns and goals for treatment. The costs for sessions are also discussed during that consultation. If you decide to move forward and schedule an evaluation, payment information may be collected to secure an appointment date and time.

  1. The intake process begins with a complimentary 20-minute initial phone consultation to discuss your concerns and goals for treatment, as well as our fees. Two sessions will be scheduled during the call if we decide to move forward: one intake assessment and one feedback session.
  2. During the 50-60 minute intake, the therapist will conduct a psychological evaluation. You will be asked questions plus complete questionnaires to help identify your or your child’s concerns from a biopsychosocial perspective.
  3. During the 50-minute feedback session, we’ll discuss our findings, establish a treatment plan together, consider the suggested length of treatment, and schedule future sessions (if applicable.)

Treatment starts with two initial evaluations lasting 50-60 minutes and one 45-minute feedback session. Subsequent sessions typically occur weekly for 45-50 minutes. The length of treatment will be discussed during the feedback session and vary based on several factors, including the nature and severity of issues, frequency of sessions, and how often skills are practiced in between sessions. On average, most clients are seen in weekly sessions for 4 to 6 months.

It is essential for clients to attend sessions to get the most out of treatment. If you cannot attend a scheduled appointment, please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance to avoid paying the full rate for a missed session.

Yes, telehealth sessions are available for any client residing in Massachusetts and New York. Several research studies have shown that telehealth treatment is as effective as in-person sessions. Most sessions at BainHWC are offered via telehealth, but in-person sessions are still available.
